Your Guide To Pour Over
Place your paper filter in the dripper and rinse it thoroughly with hot water. This removes the papery taste, warms your dripper, and preheats your server. Discard the rinse water before you start.
Add 15–18 g of ground coffee and give the dripper a gentle shake to level the coffee bed. A flat, even bed brews more evenly.
Start your timer and pour 30–40 ml of water slowly and evenly over the grounds. Let it bloom for 30–45 seconds. You'll see the coffee swell, let it settle.
Begin pouring the remaining water in slow, steady circular motions, from the centre going out and back again. Keep the coffee bed evenly saturated and avoid pouring directly onto the filter walls.
Continue until you reach 250 ml total. The whole brew should finish in 2.5–3.5 minutes. If it drains too fast, go for a finer grind next time, if it’s too slow, a touch coarser.
Remove the dripper, give the brewed coffee a gentle swirl, and pour into your mug.
Your coffee is ready! Take a moment before the first sip, the flavors need to settle.
